FAQs

Everything you need to know to get started

Do I need to book my class?

Yes! Class sizes are limited to 25 people, so it is essential to book ahead so you don’t miss out. Booking is through MINDBODY, you can find out more on our booking page. Drop-ins welcome if there is space.

What do I wear?

Clean, comfortable clothing that allows you to stretch, breathe and sweat.

What if I’m not ‘good’ at yoga?

There is no ‘good’ or ‘bad’ in yoga. It’s more than being able (or not able) to touch your toes. With consistent practice, you build flexibility, strength and conditioning, without feeling defeated.

Can I go to any class if I’ve never practiced yoga before?

We provide options and modifications in all classes, so you can practice comfortably no matter your level. However, take note that our Power Yoga classes require some previous experience as the class moves more dynamically. Slow Flow, Yin Yoga and Yin/Yang are great as a start, to get a good grasp of alignment and to receive instruction on the foundational postures to keep your body safe.

Where do I park?

We offer complimentary parking in the carpark behind the studio, or you can find street parking down Meriwa St. We encourage carpooling, strolling or riding to us at Bodyscape, knowing the air you inhale is a little sweeter outside. Please park mindfully and do not park on neighbouring lawns.

What if I’m late?

Class starts on time (with doors locked straight away) so please arrive at least 10 minutes early (or 15 if you are new). No late arrivals permitted.

Should I eat or drink before class?

If you are comfortable eating 30 minutes before exercise, then go for it, but we advise it’s something light. Otherwise, allow 1-2 hours to let the food settle down before class and drink plenty of water before, during and after class!

Can I practice if I’m pregnant?

Yes, as long as you are aware of your body and let the teacher know prior to class so we can modify poses for you. It is advisable to check with your doctor. We also have pregnancy yoga courses available to sign up to throughout the year, which you can find on our timetable or contact hello@bodyscape.com.au for dates of the next course.

Do I have to bring a mat?

We do encourage you to BYO mat for hygiene reasons, however Manduka mats are available to hire for $2 for casuals or those on a class pass. Members and Intro Offer students may use these mats complimentary.
